“Working with VRD was extremely important; it allowed us to see the process in an innovative way by strengthening the integration between specialists and identifying innovations that we would not have seen in a conventional process.”

How to rethink the conception processes for Embraer, the Brazil-based, world’s third-largest plane-maker? By focusing on the people.
Embraer commissioned us to redesign their pre-design process, an extremely strategic phase in the conception of an aircraft, as it lays the foundations for development that will last many years before making it fly.
Through a deep study of Embraer’s internal processes, we conceived a tailored design process with the goal of enabling the integration of specialists and non-linear experimentation as a path to innovate the future.
One year of implementation together with 16 Embraer professionals, integrating teams from different expertises: engineering, market intelligence, and project management, by developing a case study.
This process resulted in two innovation patents, a full-scale executive cabin prototype, and new features applied to the new Embraer Kyoto Airship.
